I'm Mrs. Mowery and I am excited to start my second year in the Bloomsburg Area School District as the K-12 Gifted Support teacher. I have worked in education since 2009 as a secondary mathematics teacher. I began at Line Mountain High School and most recently taught in Mt. Carmel High School. Over my experience I've taught at various levels including middle school math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Advanced Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, College Algebra and Probability and Statistics.
I am a 2004 Central Columbia graduate and began my college career at Cedar Crest College where I was a scholar athlete on the women's basketball and softball teams. I transferred and finished my Bachelor degree at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education. I've always had an interest in technology, and in August of 2016 completed my Master degree at Bloomsburg University in Instructional Technology. I'm also working toward the completion of the STEM (Science, Technology, Math, and Engineering) Endorsement at Wilkes University and am a certified AP Computer Science Principles teacher through the CollgeBoard. Exploring how technologies can improve classroom education is a goal of mine, and we will be trying to utilize as many tech tools as we can throughout the year.
When I'm not teaching or looking for new ways to challenge my students, I'm spending time with my husband on our farm. Mr. Mowery and I have 2 fur-children: Cooper, an Australian shepherd, and Callie, a beagle. I also enjoy hunting and coaching girls basketball. I'm hoping I can continue the latter eventually here at Bloomsburg.
